... It was in the early spring that a she-wolf found herself in a lush grassland without any memory of how she got there. Luckily enough for her, it wasn't long until she stumbled across other travellers. Quite literally.

"Oh! Sorry, I didn't see you there." The grey and silver wolf apologised, still somewhat startled.
"I'm-" She went to introduce herself, but instead found herself at a mental blank. After a short silence, the male seemed to pity her slightly.
"It's okay. I'm Ciel." He said, simply.
"Aurora." She replied out of reflex rather than actual thought.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the clearing the beasts seemed to start thundering. Before the two strangers knew it, a lithe raven coated wolf came flying along in pursuit of a pair of bison. A mother and her calf. They could only watch and witness as the predator seemed to stand upon something and loose his momentum just as the mother bison flung out her hooves just above his head.

While the bison galloped off to rejoin their herd, the two spectators raced over to where the wolf had fallen.

"Are you alright?" Asked the grey and golden female.
"I'm fine." Grumbled the stranger, pushing himself from the muddy ground, raising his chin as if to look tough despite being considerably smaller than her and covered with who-knows-what.
"I was just trying to get some food. You know how it is. Before you know it, it'll be winter and there's nothing to eat." He seemed to trail off on this thought, his mind wandering.
"Perhaps we could help you." Offered the silvery male.
"I.." The dark male started, then decided to revise his words. "It would be my pleasure."
The she-wolf grinned. "I'm Aurora."
"Ember." Replied the muddy wolf.
"Ciel."

"So, do you own this land or-?"
Ember cut in. "Hold up, we're not alone. I smell wolves."
Aurora was the one to speak up. "Come out. We're not going to hurt you."

Just like that three others appeared.
"Er," said one of the males. "I'm Vertrou ... Are you three hunting?"
"Well, yes. You're welcome to join us if you like." Aurora looked back to her newfound companions for permission.
The other male stood forward as well. "Sorry to have been sneaking about. I hope I didn't intrude. I'm Chaos." The red male introduced himself.
"And my name is Night." Said the lone black-pelted female. "I'm sorry, I thought you were a pack and, well..." Her voice trailed off.
"Well, Night, Vertrou, Chaos," Ember nodded to each new individual. "As Aurora said, it would be a pleasure for you to join our hunt."
"It will, quite frankly, be a great help." Ciel said graciously.
"Thank you. I'd love to join you." Chaos said thankfully.
Vertrou only let out a small, weak, yet very sincere smile.
"We should get to it then - before nightfall." With that, Aurora let out a rallying howl.

Loud and true, this howl reached more than the current company's ears. A silvery female who had been leaving this clearing heard it from nearby. Curious and knowing that no pack owned this bountiful land overrun with loners, she approached the group and - unknowingly - her brother.

"...C-Chaos..?"
He turned to the familiar voice, stunned.
To the alarm of the rest of the group, the silver female came flying out of nowhere.
"Ominous, how... why? Where did you come from?!" Asked her brother, grinning.
"Everyone, this is my sister."
"Hmm? Oh, dear. It seems that I've intruded on a hunt. I'm Ominous."
"Nice to meet you." Ember remarked, rather amused.
"I know what you must be thinking, we look nothing alike. You see, our mother was a lovely snow white wolf-" Ominous started rambling about their family traits and heritage. "-He was rusty like my brother, but Echo is silver like me and-!"
"Echo? Silver? Rusty? There are more to your brood, I assume. Can we expect more sneak attacks from your family, Chaos?" Ember grinned.
"Oh! I'm sorry, Ember. Nice to meet you, too." Ominous said, recovering from her state of mind.

"Oh, excuse me. I didn't know this was pack territory." A new voice stated. It belonged to a towering brute of a male.
"No, we're not a pack." Aurora replied, somewhat amused.
The newcomer looked confused. "Then... What are you all doing up here?
From seemingly nowhere, yet another wolf appeared.
"Oh, hello." Said the coppery female, somewhat surprised.
"I don't know her." The male said.
Aurora raised a brow. "We were just preparing for a hunt. You are both welcome - you too, Ominous," she said to Chaos' sister.
"I'll be glad to!" The chipper silver wolf stated.

Chaos grinned toward Aurora. "We're ready when you are, Chief." He said with a wink and a smile.
At first she was a little uncertain, but then she returned the smile and looked around her. At all the different faces. All strangers, yet all alike.

"I have every confidence that together, we can do this."

Legends Retold
June 15th - August 15th

Our characters don't have the written word or photos or films to keep their history alive. They have to regale it by voice and by memory. That means that over time, it will slowly change as it's passed down through the generations. Sometimes it gets to the point that's it's a fable, it seems more of a myth than a part of history.

That's why you're here! Retell the tales of our characters and spin it into something else. Something legendary. What do you think will our children's children tell theirs when they ask how it all started, or when the pack fought a mighty mountain lion called Ryurik?

This is a storytelling contest, not a writing contest. That means that you can make a comic, write it in the form of a dialogue or narrative, supplement it with images, anything or any way that stories have been told throughout history (think tapestries, Egyptian tomb paintings, even plays!). Go wild, folks. If you dare.

• For 'Rora to have a personal relationship and experience with everyone in the pack and be a little less ... of a boring leader. Interact with the peasants, seem more approachable and less awe-inspiring. That kind of thing.

• Declare new laws. No one is allowed to leave Elderwood alone, and there is a curfew that no one except a border patrol are allowed to leave the den site. There must be a team patrolling the borders at all times (giving them time to bond as well as something to do). Strangers must be evaluated by the border patrol before being taken to Aurora. If they are deemed unsavoury then they are run out of the territory.

• Aurora learns of most of the going-ons 'from a little birdie' and chastises Genesis on associating with a potentially dangerous outsider and assaulting a pack member, as well as Chaos and Fenrir for losing their heads. However, she realises that she needs someone to take charge when she goes. She heard that Lexi, Vertrou and Night kept their wits during a difficult time, and promotes them to Lead ranks! She approaches Chaos with the same proposal, but decides otherwise last moment, instead deciding to wait to see how things play out.
