Reknown: Street CredHow much "Street Cred" you have is basically how reknown you have. If you're famous enough and have won enough fights, shady individuals may approach you and offer to set up a fight in your favour - for a price or for their own benefit. If the people like you then they too may try to help you, but be warned: If words get out that you're illegitimately winning fights or if you win just a little bit too much, then they might turn against you and your world will become considerably more dangerous.
Street Cred can increase your prize money, too. Champions (if they don't get roasted by sore loosers) and Underdogs get triple times the reward they normally would get, plus whatever their fans give them. But it also means that the price for defeat is much more than you bargain for.
You can double Street Cred by buying garb and paints to make yourself stick out from the competition and strike fear in the hearts of your rivals. Winning in the Arena during gladiatorial rounds against monsters, wild animals or reknown combatants will increase your Street Cred considerably, especially during multi-round tournaments.
Reknown: Nobility (?)
If you want to become big in the apocalypse, you'll have to make some friends... And some enemies. Although dangerous, nobility clearly has it's perks. When in larger settlements you'll have an easier time finding a good price, you'll have more connections to get what you want and to get you out of trouble. You'll need Nobility to raise up in the rank.
You can get nobility by befriending
somebodies, having them owe you favours and owning a lot of wealth. Manipulation is not the only way to rise to power, however, as being righteous and loved by the people can an honourable if slower and less rewardable way to climb the career ladder.
Gambling Before a fight, both the combatants and any bookies may place bets. A very risky way of turning up cash, and almost never reliable even for those who make it their business to assure a victory. However it is also a quick and almost effortless method of doubling your income should you have the guts to take the plunge.
